About Wine |
![]() ![]() Sparkling WineMany people refer to all bubbly wines all together as either sparkling wine or as champagne. Actually, they are different kinds of wine though. True Champagnes are made in the north of France, according to the painstaking Méthode Champenoise. All other bubbly wines should be labeled as sparkling wine instead. Obviously, Champagne is the most revered bubbly wine in the world and as mentioned they are produced in the region about 90 miles north of Paris. Often Champagne contains up to three different grapes, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. It is usually labeled on the bottle from dry to sweet, Champagnes are labeled Brut Absolut, Brut, Extra-Dry, Sec, Demi-Sec and Doux. Simply choose the level you are most comfortable with. A sparkling wine is often made in a very similar way as Champagne with the best ones closely resembling the model production of Champagne, with a second fermentation taking place inside the bottle. Some of the best sparklers come from France, Italy, California, Spain and Australia. A sparkling wine and Champagne is often used and suggested for very festive occasions and will always reflect taste and sophistication . Recommended
